MCM spirits was founded in 2004 by Donegal businessman Martin McHugh.
Martin was born 1961 and is a former Gaelic footballer and media personality. A two-time All Star winner, Texaco Footballer of the Year in 1992 and is a member of Donegal's 1992 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winning side.
He has a son, Mark, who is also an all-Ireland winner with Donegal. In a poll carried out by the Donegal Democrat in 2009, Martin was voted Donegal's best ever footballer in the 125-year history of the Gaelic Athletic Association.
Martin identified a gap in the spirit distribution business after working on the launch of Boru Vodka. Martin was key to the success and eventual sale of Boru to Castle Brands Inc in the USA.
Today MCM is the fastest growing spirit distributor in the country. The clear focus of the company is obtaining key spirit brands and activating them in the Irish market whilst servicing the general spirit needs of their clients.
